Program:“Pico-Ballooning and Ham Radio.” by Brian Basura, N6CVO
Brian will be discussing what Pico-Ballooning is and how it differs from other types of High Altitude Balloons (HAB's). I will also go over the basics of a complete balloon as launched as well as a number of common options. I will then talk about Ham Radio and the key role it plays in this hobby. Finally I'll finish up discussing our recent launches from QuartzFest in AZ.
I'm an Extra Class operator, Assistant DEC for ARES High Desert (LAX Section), VP of the Acton Agua-Dulce ARC and I work as a Hydroelectric Power plant Technician. I also manage two Winlink Gateways and I am trustee for two local repeaters.

Board Meetings
The PAARA Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the home of Marty Wayne, W6NEV. Address is: 1039 Bryant Way, Sunnyvale, CA. We conduct most of our club business there in order to allow more time for guest speakers and socializing at regular club meetings. Any PAARA member is welcome to attend.

September Board Meeting
The Nominating Committee is appointed by the President to decide on a slate of candidates to be recommended to the membership.
October General Meeting
The Nominating Committee presents its nominations to the membership at the regular club meeting. Nominations from club members opens at the beginning of the meeting, and closes at the end of the meeting.
