Dennis Willson, KA6LSW, has relinquished his position as Webmaster, due to health concerns, so our long-planned custom database-driven site redesign has been placed on hold. Instead, we are now using the WordPress “semantic personal publishing platform”. WordPress can be upgraded with plug-ins that increase its functionality without requiring us to design and code custom solutions.

The key, however, to keeping this new site up-to-date, will be the participation of volunteers to edit its content. Our first new Web editor is Joel Wilhite, KD6W, who will keep us all posted on what the upcoming PAARA meeting lectures will be.

May 14th is not only the next Electronics Flea Market, but the one that PAARA operates as our primary fundraiser.

Your help is needed to help make this successful! We need people to help set up, sell food, and clean up at the end.

We also need you to help spread the word, to make sure the turnout of vendors and visitors is as large as possible.

More details will follow.

Terry Finn has announced that there will be a mini auction at the next club meeting, on Feburary 4th, with proceeds to benefit PAARA.

New Location!
PAARA member Sister Tony, KG6RVS passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Mission San Jose, Dominican Nuns.

Services to be held on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 17:00 (5pm), with a viewing at 16:00 (4pm) at The Holy Family Sisters Chapel, 159 Washington, 510-657-2468. Driving directions.

According to K6WX, 880 may be congested at that time of day so one might want to take Mowry or Stevenson to Mission Blvd and then head south to Bryant. A Mapquest map is also available.

Les Vickery, W6AKR, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25/04. He was a long time PAARA member who lived a rather exciting life as a radio operator with Pan Am Airways. The family is planning a graveside service for Friday, January 7/05 at 1300 hrs at the Sky Lawn Memorial Park, located at the top of the hill on highway 92.
A memorial service will be held sometime later and his daughter Lee Ann at 408-529-6081 will advise us of the details.
