Board Meetings
The PAARA Board meets at 7:00pm (19:00J) at the Palo Alto Red Cross building, the Wednesday following each month’s general meeting. We conduct most of our club business here in order to allow more time for guest speakers and socializing at club meetings. Any PAARA member is welcome to attend.
A few meetings throughout the year have pre-defined agenda items. These include:
- September Board Meeting
- The Nominating Committee is appointed by the President to decide on a slate of candidates to be recommended to the membership.
- October General Meeting
- The Nominating Committee presents its nominations to the membership at the regular club meeting. Nominations from club members opens at the beginning of the meeting, and closes at the end of the meeting.
- Menlo Park C_D Radio Club Bylaws
- Rules governing the normal operation of the club.
- Callsign History
- The club has had its current callsign, W6OTX, since at least 1988 (the date the FCC shows for the current grant), and likely back to 1950, when the club originally requested it, to honor Wilbur C. Lauridsen, who served as the club Trustee up until the start of WWⅡ, and who was lost in action early on in the Pacific.
- The club’s previous call was W6UAM, which was allowed to expire before the club was able to reorganize.
